We speak to you to, the great people of Ekiti State, men and women, young and old, civil servants, workers, students, fishermen in the rural and urban areas, men and women of faith, free thinkers, the haves and the have-nots. We speak to farmers in the plain, in the forest and those on the hills and on the field; We speak to the unemployed, Okada riders, drivers, market women and men. We speak of unity, peace, growth, love and prosperity which have been the lot of Ekiti people in the past three years that Governor Biodun Oyebanji came to power. The Governor has addressed major problems facing the state. He will do more in the coming years. Here are the major reasons while we think you should come out in large numbers to support and vote for Governor Biodun Oyebanji:
- It is a great thing to support the current Federal Government led by one of us. It is the first time Nigeria is having a pro-democracy President, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu. He inherited a poor economy with thousands of terrorist groups spread across the country. Terrorism has been in the country since 2009. He cannot solve a problem of 13 years in just three years.
- In the past three years, President Tinubu has made impact through South-West Development Agenda (SWDA), creation ofa military base in Ekiti and a military training depot in Osogbo, the first in Nigerian history, NEFUND loan for students, Lagos-Calabar highway, a Federal University at Iyin-Ekifi, College of Education at Ilawe, appointment of the nation’s Chief of Défence Staff and EFCC Chairman, all from Ekiti. Support for HE Biodun Oyebanji translates to support for President Tinubu. Ekiti needs to support the two men for prosperity’s sake.
- Governor Oyebanji is close to President Tinubu through which many developments and appointments have come to Ekiti. Many more will come as we vote for him for a second term.
- The most stable political party in Nigeria is the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 31 out of 36 States. It is wise to vote for the winning team, so that Ekiti won’t be supporting a party that has no impact in the centre.
- The main opposition party, PDP, is almost dead while the Labour Party (LP) has been abandoned by its funders. The ADC has no future. Ekiti people need to invest wisely and stay with the ruling party for the benefit of our people.
- Governor Oyebanji has proved to be the best among the other candidates. He built the Ado-Ekiti ring road, Akure-Ado-Ekiti highway that was abandoned is near completion, civil servants earning their promotion, gratuity arrears cleared and fresh payments of gratuity paid to pensioners, scholarship for students, 200 schools repaired, Ikogosi has become a world-class tourist centre, the Ekiti Airport is now in active state while there are fresh loads of Federal Government-Ekiti State partnership projects in the offing. The next four years promise to be exceptional for Ekiti State.
- He built the 18km Ring Road in Ado-Ekiti with 350km of road network projects completed or under construction.
- His investment in education is impressive with World Bank-Assisted Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), car loans and housing loans to workers; $80m support for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone from African Development Bank (AfDB), partnership with USAID for $100,000 each to 10 cooperative societies and NI billion credit facilities for Ekifi Women, so also, the Ekiti State Mega Local Fabrics (Aso-Oke) remains a milestone among many others.
- In the area of agriculture, he launched the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project aimed at establishing commercial goat farming at Otun-Ekiti while across the state, several private and government-owned ventures are on-going with huge harvest expected in the next season.
- We didn’t see this progress of State Police move and minima restructuring in 16 years of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) There is no other political party in Nigeria talking about these issues. The APC does not represent perfection, but compared with the rest of the ideologically barren political parties, APC offer some minimum comfort.
- Ekiti is free from intra-party violence, thuggery and political killings while terrorism is being curtailed decisively with the deployment of soldiers permanently at Itapaji-Ekiti and Irele-Ekiti. It would have been worst without these efforts.
We call on all Ekiti people to come out in large numbers to vote for HE ‘Biodun Oyebanji for prosperity and uplift of Ekiti State.
